Synth Legends Symposium DVD

[cappy2112]

I've just bought a neat DVD from www.audiomidi.com.

Synth Legends is the name, and it features monologues from Tom Oberheim, Bob Moog, Dave Smith, Marcus Ryle, and Roger Linn (who is the MC). They all talk about the history of their respective companies, synths, things going on at the time. Lots of laughs (Roger Linn is a very funny guy), lots of nostalgic talk, and is very interesting. After reading about Marcus Ryle on AH and in various articles over the years, it was particularly interesting to hear him talk about Oberheim, "back in the day"

The DVD is just about over 1 hour, I think. I got it on special for $19 about 2 weeks ago, so it may be listed at the normal price now.

From what I remember, Marion Systems synths weren't very successfull, but one of the last few things Tom says on this DVD, is something to the effect that "It would be fun to do another analogue synth project again".

I walked away with a feeling that something is brewing .....

Man, do I miss the 80's....
