Hello everyone.
I've been looking through this forum quite a bit recently - a wonderful resource. If only I had a decent broadband connection, I'd be able to hear more of the music...
Anyway, here's some of mine (all 128 mp3s)
a song about my prime minister
one about buying things that I then throw away
and one quoting Kofi Annan talking about AIDS
So some political slant I suppose.
I'd really appreciate any feedback, on the music, the production, and how to categorise it....there's definitely some electronics involved, but also vocals and acoustic samples.
Alright, that's my piece, hope to contribute some more to electro-music in the future.

Great songs. I like them... I think the production values are very good. The songs have a nice approachable quality to them. Good stuff... _________________ --Howard

Thanks for the positive feedback...I really needed it! I got no response from various radio stations when I submitted these tracks, not too good for the confidence...
Almost all the sounds were coming out of a Yamaha A4000, but I've added quite a few bits of kit in the last while, and it's all got a bit less simple ( ). Hopefully I'll get something finished before all the oil runs out, and play a few gigs soon.
Are there any other members in Ireland? Maybe it'd be easier to stage an event jointly...here's hoping!

Don't worry about what people say or don't say about your music. You have a lot of talent and skill, Keep at it. The music business is in dire straights. _________________ --Howard

Aw shucks guys - where's the emoticon fro "blushing"!
Really, I'm delighted you like the music. I'm nowhere near giving up though, that's why playing live is the next step, but translating the recordings to a performance is the stumbling block. I don't want to just sing over a backing track, but it's hard to decide what to play, what to leave out and what to have sequenced.
I suppose I should just try a few things and see how people react.
Onward & upwards, forward & backwards......I'll let ye know how I get on.

There's nothing wrong with a backing track. Lots and lots of respectable people do it. Asside from the vocal part, you might play one voice live, or simply tune some modifiers or processors in real time. Audiences don't seem to balk a backing tracks. _________________ --Howard

Point taken, I should just get out there and get the music heard, right?
I think my problem is I'm coming from "the band" mentality/background. I've been to concerts of academic type eletro-acoustic music, and despite some massive jumps in volume, I actually started dozing off at times....it was dark though!
I finally bought a controller keyboard with knobs last week, after many months of deliberation (surprise, surprise, it's the cheapest one available),
so that gives me options for performance.
I don't really have any big problem with backing tracks, I just want to put on a good show. If I could get a band together, that would be ideal, but unlikely anytime soon...I've enough trouble organising myself.
Thanks for the input
