How to Use the Performer's Information Editor
=============================================
The Performer's Information editor lets you write the description that appears on the radio page for your live stream. When you signup for a live streaming concert, a stream op will give you a port number and a password. To access the Performer's Information editor, click on this link /radio/edit_my_description.php, enter the port number and the port's password, and you will open the description editor for your port.
It works like a simple word processor: you type your text in the box and use the toolbar buttons to format it.
The Basics
----------
Here is an example:
Just type your description in the editing box. Use the toolbar buttons to:
- choose a heading size for a title or section
- make text bold or italic
- center the text (suggested)
A Note About Heading Sizes
--------------------------
Please do not use the largest heading size (Heading 1). On the radio page as it comes out much too big. If you want a large title, use Heading 2 as the biggest size -- it looks right in the space available. Heading 2 and the smaller sizes are all fine.
When you are happy with it, click the Update button on the bottom left to save. Your description will then automatically show up on the radio page when the stream op switches your stream to be on the air.
Adding an Image
---------------
You can also include an image in your description -- a studio photo, an artist's picture, a poster, or an abstract image; whatever fits your music. Here is the procedure:
The image first has to live somewhere on our site so the editor can point to it. (You can link to an image that's on another website; just make sure the link ends in png, gif, or jpg).
The easiest way to upload an image from your computer to our server is to send yourself a Private Message, PM, and use the forum's attachment feature:
1. In the forum, send a PM to yourself and attach the image to it (the attachment tool documentation explains how to attach a file). Don't forget to push the Submit button. This puts your image on the site so you can link to it.
2. Open that message and find the attached image. Right-click the image and choose "Copy Image Address" (or "Copy Image Location"). This copies the image's URL (web address). Make sure the link ends in png, gif, or jpg, It won't work if the link is html, php, or any non-image filetype.
3. Come back to the Performer's Information editor. Put the cursor where you want the image to appear, then click the editor's image button on the toolbar - it looks like a tree.
4. Paste the URL address you copied into the image dialog and confirm. The image now appears in your description.
Example 2: the editor showing an image
That's it -- click the Update button at the bottom left to save your description and the image will automatically show up on the radio page when you're on the air.
If you have questions or suggestions post them to this topic. _________________ --Howard

I guess it should come with a footnote about the public ports.
As far as I am aware it can be used for those as well, but if the same public port is assigned to more than one artist
(which is pretty rare these days) that could cause some clashes. _________________ "My perf, it's full of holes!"

Yes, the editor will work with public ports. If clashes happen, we will have to adapt. _________________ --Howard
