Hello!
I was wondering if anyone here has built a MFOS 10 Step Sequencer?
I need some hints ...

I am about to build one now and have some thoughts on the wiring the 12 pole rotary switch .... should the cables from the switch connect to the potentiometers and then from the potentiometers to the PCB?

Greatful for some answers!

Cheers.

I believe the switch you refer to would be the "StepReset" switch. It would be used to select count length, or the number of steps in the sequence. Usually in 4017 designs, the wiper of this switch would be an input to the Reset line of the chip. Each output of the 4017 would go to its own pot for CV adjustment control. when that particular step is active, the pot adjustment controls the CV out. Each output of the 4017 would also go to an input of the switch.

Ray's schematics should show this.

Hi Pelle

You can do it either way - Ray suggests going from the switch to the pot and from the pot to the pcb.

I took the wire from the pot and the wire from the switch and soldered both to the pcb.

As long as you are connecting the X8 (for instance) on the switch to the X8 pot contact and to the X8 contact on the pcb you'll be good. I don't remember why I did it by connecting both to the pcb but it works that way - just as long as those three points are connected for each of X1 to X9 you should be fine.

Good luck - it all makes sense once you start soldering wires together.

Cheers

Ian

Thanks for great descriptions!

I now understand how it could be soldered, believe that the soldering can be easily confusing when one has been sitting with it for a few hours:)

Back to work:)

Cheers.
