New Label, New Distribution for Magnetic Wind and The Mousai

[MagneticWind]

Starting next week, Magnetic Wind is embracing a new business model. With the world of music business ever changing, and the true intention of the music to be expressively shared for enjoyment, healing and connection to others, not financial gain, all Magnetic Wind albums will be available free. Zips will be directly available at the Magnetic Wind website and on Internet Archives. Distribution in both digital and physical form will still be available via CD Baby and Reverbnation. A donation button will be available at the Magnetic Wind website for fans and afficianados of the music to be able to contribute as they wish or are able. There will no longer exist a model of "you can have it if you can pay for it" mentality. I believe this ADDS to the value of the music, because it denotes that the music truly is for everyone who wishes to have it, regardless of it they can pay or not, and removes the financial burden of purchasing music from those who really would love to own it and cannot afford it. Pay what you want pricing will be available on Bandcamp as well.

Magnetic5280 is now a hybrid netlabel/label and will be publishing not only Magnetic Wind but other artists that embrace this same philosophy,as well as a philosophy of sustainability, under the genres of drone, new age, positive ambient, ethereal ambient, space ambient, sound healing and piano/vocal ambient. The business model is completely different that that of many of our counterparts. We are aiming to support both the listening public and the artist and provide a positive, sacred space for healing music. Magnetic5280 embraces the same distribution mode as Magnetic Wind, Cd Baby, Reverbnation for digital and physical sales, free zips available with donations on the site, Internet Archives free download and Bandcamp pay what you wants.

The Mousai is a division of Magnetic 5280 that will embrace only female ambient musicians for publication and promotion in the same business model.

More information to come next week.
