Just before we will open the champaign...

Now you are able to upload downloaded Programs from the Archive, which are in the setting G.16, AND the Programs you downloaded to your computer, which are in the setting G.1?

Now I have to find out what is changed in the synth, in other words, what doesn't work anymore after switching the setting of the Global Midi Channel...

Wout

That is exactly correct. Using the Global MIDI setting I must match the setting as specified in the sysex file.

Oops... There is the confusion I'm afraid of! In my set up both 'F0 33 0F...' and 'F0 33 00...' can be uploaded to the NordLead2. There is no need to set the Global Midi to G.1 after using G.16... Is this different then yours?

The Midi problem causes a lot of confusion. SysEx and Program Change are using the Global Midi Channels and, as far as I noticed, the Global setting has to be a higher number then used by the 'normal' Midi (Notes and CC's), so when using Midi Channel 8 and the Global is in Midi Channel 5, SysEx dumps and Program Change commands don't work.

I just got a 2X today -- my first real synthesizer -- and I've spent hours trying to figure out how to load the original factory presets. I found this forum doing a Google search and this solution worked for me as well, so I joined up to say thank you!

welcome moldcat

That's really nice.

I had to read the complete thread again to find out what is was all about Smile
Still I think it's a lot of confusion, but using the rule the Global has to be set higher, it works, indeed!
I don't think Clavia will ever change that Very Happy

I think I will write a sticky thread about the Midi too...
