Quasiton (bebop-o-tronics)
Elektro80 a few days ago was telling me about the bebop-o-tronics movement. It reminded me that I have a good example of this style that I composed a few years ago called "Quasiton"
It started out as a free piano improvisation recorded on my sequencer and then edited up to the smallest detail.
If improvisation is sometimes called "instant composition", my compositions could be called "dissected improvisations"
Enjoy
bebop-o-tronics has suddenly been resurrected! We have to patent it? _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"
Listening again! This one bops! _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"
And I am getting Indialuna again! _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"
I am very proud of Quasiton. If you listen carefully you'll hear a "call and response" (canon style) among the instruments. I was trying to mix free improvisation and baroque music
J.S.Bach if born in the XX century would have been the greatest jazzman _________________ homepage - blog - forum - youtube

This thread suddenly remided me about my own stunt years ago... the band "Ministry Of Loud" .. a heavy rock group without the rock. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"
I received the MIDI file from Carlo and I've done another arrangement. I think the MIDI file is not exactly the one of the verison Carlo has posted, but I could have munged it when I was working on it. In any event, this sounds a bit different. I thinned the bass line quite a bit and changed a bit of the precussion sounds.
I hope Carlo isn't too upset with me....

it's such an honor to have Master Patch DJ remixing my tune
yours is a more minimalistic approach than mine but that's fine.
I like it. It's very interesting to see what someone else can come up with your own stuff
