[SOLVED] ADSR without trigger input (i.e. using gate only) |
 |
|
Hey guys.
So I built a couple of Ray's ADSR boards and am not quite seeing how to wire them without using the trigger input.
If I leave the trigger input floating it doesn't work.
If I tie the trigger input to ground it works as expected in "long" mode, but "short" mode makes it work as if I applied a trigger -- it just runs through the attack and release cycle.
Should I tie the trigger in to +V? Normal it to gate? What's my best approach?
Thanks! _________________ - r. mosquito

| It should just be left floating. It's not normaled to anything in the schematic. I'd check your wiring I don't see how the short and long switch could change anything as it just adds a cap in parallel with the other timing cap. |

Doops. Yes, it was my wiring. Thank you, forshee! _________________ - r. mosquito

| Glad I could help. What do you think of it? I'm still without a proper ADSR and shopping around. |

As far as prefabbed boards go, I say it's a winner. I did a couple of Yves' ADSR boards which aren't as versatile in the modding department but sport a much lower parts cost. The downside of course is you're etching your own boards -- which I find a huge PITA. I got a couple of the MFOS ADSR kits from Bridechamber as I was feeling even more lazy than usual... so this worked out well for me.
The Tom Wiltshire digital ADSR wins the easiest / fastest prize, though. _________________ - r. mosquito
