For some reason - perhaps in a weird form of invert geekiness - I find the ability to produce tremendous ranges of sound with a large dynamic range using almost microscopic grooves traced by a needle in a composite plastic disk more astounding than converting a stream of digital bits.

I find the fact that it's stereo even more astounding All Ears

Innit? Cool

Found this. I knew this, it's just been a long time since I thought of it.

Definitely release date!

I have probably 100 78 RPM Shellac recordings from the early to mid 1900's - one of the oldest I can date is a recording of an American propaganda song that talks about kicking the Kaiser - I guess that would put it around 1917 or so.

Now that's an oldie!

It'd be funny if it sounded like Red Foreman. "How about I kick your Kaiser in the keister?"
