Native Instruments? Subject description: Or Native Missing The Point?
I went to check out some NI products and they have demo videos. I emailed them to suggest they provide subtitles. I'm going to let the correspondence speak for itself. Talk about your dumb shits.

Hello Damien Moody @ NI User Forums,
sorry, we don't have subtitles.
Best regards

Would it not be difficult to add your own subtitles, then upload the subtitled vids to YouTube, and then tell NI? They may give you a job!

Honestly, I think your going a bit hard on the NI guys here. You got an answer, and it's an incredibly straight-forward one (it's not going to happen). The fact that you weren't really expecting an "answer" at all, hoping for something else ("idea noted, maybe we'll do it some day") is likely due to some cultural difference between what you're used to and what the NI guy is used to, and doesn't change the fact that this is now resolved and you can get on with your life.
Some places (many here in Europe) aren't so big on the "excuse me"s and "how do you do"s, which I occasionally find a bit refreshing. Some cultural shock every now and then is good for the immune system.

Well, maybe I should paraphrase what happened.
Me: Hey, you don't have subtitles. It'd be good for business for you to add them.
Them: I'm sorry, we don't have subtitles.
Me, sotto voce: That's what I just said, dumbass.
Maybe it's about cultural differences, but I told them how they could increase their customer base and therefore their profits, and that they might lose a little profit by excluding a certain demographic, and they said "not interested".
Maybe they're so secure in their current sales that they can shrug off the niche market. If so, I can shrug them off, too!
I generally do not warm up to people I approach with an idea to make things more accessible to people like me, only to be told to get lost. I think anyone with any good cause would feel this way.
Keep in mind that you got that answer from the support department. Support people are usually exposed to months of extensive pavlovian exercises in order to be able to ignore absolutely all content in emails like yours that do not address the issues that the support department are supposed to respond to.
It could well be that the head of their marketing department might actually consider subtitles to be a great idea. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Tom, have you considered why Audiodef would want subtitles? _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Well it did also occur to me that if you can't hear what they are saying, wouldn't it also be really difficult to hear what the instruments were doing or sounding like too?? The situation we have here is all a bit "Franz Kafka" don't you think?
Or perhaps it's just the early onslaught of my Alzheimers disease setting in? _________________ ACHTUNG!

This is probably exactly what happened.
But it's still stupid. It's stupid to train your employees to behave like (stupid) robots. When a customer chimes in with a suggestion, one that could make the company look good and bring in additional customers, there's only one reasonable reaction, if you're running a good business: follow up on the customer's suggestion! In this case, the robot who received my email should have brought it to the attention of marketing.

Yeah, let me just turn my hearing aids up, maybe that'll help. No, wait, it won't!

Not at all, Tom. Here's my deal: sans hearing aids, I'm functionally deaf. With hearing aids, I cannot make out speech in videos, and need to be able to see a speaker's face in person to supplement listening with lip-reading. Really noisy room - forget it - get out the pen and paper (or use sign language if you happen to know it).
Musically, I can hear MOST of what I need to hear to compose, mix and master. I don't have any natural hearing above 1300-1500 Hz. My hearing aids use frequency compression to emulate high frequencies. Kind of like the audio version of Geordi LaForge's VISOR - it's not simple amplification.
What I really have trouble with is picking out my vocal takes, for which I rely on my girlfriend (sweetheart that she is to do this!).
Perhaps there is a version dubbed to german with polish subtitles out there? _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Okay, cool. Can you use sign language? I know how to say "Tom" with my fingers on the palm of my hand, because my friend Jane (who is profoundly deaf), told me how to do so. All you need is a camcorder, and a copy of iMovie (or equivalent).
There. _________________ ACHTUNG!

Just to be fair, there certainly are issues with letting a support department produce product and marketing related ideas.
NI may possibly not be the most customer oriented company out there, and certainly more than one customer have been led to believe that they are more into reenacting the Battle of May Island rather than providing meaningful product support. I don´t think they are evil though. Why not try to send an email to the sales/marketing department? _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"
Unfair? NI has just released a new bug free update to Reaktor?!

To be honest, I thought NI's answer was very 'German'. I mean that in a good way- not a bad one. It's a very corporate and 'German' answer. Concise and straight to the point. You will never get any of this "have a nice day" crap that people seem to spue out in America and England. Therefore, I wouldn't let it bother you so much. _________________ ACHTUNG!

NI were on the receiving end of a lot of problems 10 years back or so. I remember it well. I had a Reaktor key once, but I gave it to a friend, because I preferred my Nord Modular. I've still got Kontakt somewhere up in the loft, but I never use it. I don't have the time these days. My other work is so labour intensive, then I have my kids- who are hard work too _________________ ACHTUNG!

Well, ever been in contact with small german synth manufacturers of the cottage variety? Those tend to be more like.. uh.. like the first 15 minutes of
The Titfield Thunderbolt . Very nice.. not concise and corporate at all. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"
