Should I build two (2) individual MFOS Wall Wart Power Supply (+/-9V to +/-15V), or is there a better way to do it?

if I want power for.

1 VCO
1 VCA
1 VCF
1 NOISE
1 LFO

Hidden somewhere in most of the pages for Ray's modules is a little box with the approximate + and - current consumption listed for you, on the VCO page it's right above page 2 of the schematic.

I would go through and add them up for any modules you are thinking of building, then read up on the "please read this" section of the wallwart power supply page.

How much current a power supply can draw depends on a bunch of things, the MFOS site has more clearly written information than i can give you so i'll duck out now, but let us know if you have further questions.

From what I get of the information, if I use a 12v 1000mA powersupply with regulators 7812 and 7912 that can take max 1000mA,
there should be no problem using one (1) powersupply for up to at least 10-12 individual modules.

Heat sink those regulators well...

I've tried to run 12 various modules off supplies using 7812 and 7912 regulators- it proved a bit much - although I don't recall exactly which modules they were...

Offhand, I'd say 6 to 8 you would be good.

Good luck

thanks for clearifying this.
would it be possible for you to post a photo of your powersupply with the heatsinks installed?

did you do yours on a breadboard or MFOS readymade board ?

is it not possible to add regulators to provide better capacity?

I've been using "Power-One" supplies in my modular for a while now.

The supply I used at the time was a full wave supply - other than that much like the MFOS from the regulators to the output.
