Water and odour

Of late there's been a pollen-like odour in the water coming out of my taps in my house. Anyone know what this could mean and if I should do something? I have a whole-house filter to take care of things like chlorine and lead.

Do you have city water or a well?
Have your neighbors noticed anything?
Is it a very strong smell?Does it taste odd?Any discoloration?Bubbles?
It might warrant a call to your local health dept.and maybe taking a sample to test.
If you have city water,maybe calling the water dept. could shed some light.
I don't know what sort of contaminant would smell like that,but I'm no chemist either.
The fact that you have a filter makes it a bit odd,as if maybe it's a lot stronger than what you're smelling and the filter is removing some of the odor.(I'm assuming you're talking about a charcoal filter element)
You might want to avoid drinking it until you sort it out.

It's city water. Neighbours around here, unfortunately, seem to stick to themselves, and I live in kind of a dumb neighbourhood (I don't mean to sound snotty, but I haven't seen evidence otherwise) so people would probably go "uh... what?" if I asked, or maybe just a vapid "no" and walk unsteadily away.

Anyway, I think I will get my water tested and call the water co. There's no odd taste - just that pollen smell.
