"The Remix Mix" A house/progressive breaks mix |
 |
|
This mix was recorded for Bayraves.com and is quite a bit different then anything I've done before. I have a whole bunch of remixes that are very good, but I won't normally put on a cd, so I decided to make a whole mix of nothing but remixes. Thus the name of the disc. Every track on this mix is either a remix of a famous artist or a well known track. The mix starts out with house and works its way into progressive breaks. I hope you're not dissapointed.

Hey dude! Kool stuff! The mix is running now.. Sounds good. One thing though.. aren´t you afraid that the rights managment companies hired by the labels will sue your ass off? You are actually publishing your own mixes containing original performances by a lot of major artists.
That said, the mix is way cool, but I would prefer that you edit the original text a bit so this site won´t be fried when the stormtroopers discover this. You see, when links to the music are published here WE are also responsible for publishing the stuff.
I see the files are not realtime packet streaming radiostyle.. but for downloading. This actually computes to distribution too which is SERIOUS.
When you do DJ stuff live you always leave the playlist with the boss.. and he will see to it that the playlist is reported and the royalties are paid. Publishing stuff like this live on the net probably means you have to pay the same royalties that netradiostations do... but then you will have to do radiostyle packet streaming. Downloads means that you are actually freely distributing pirated stuff.
Sorry dude.. but I hope you see my point. The mix is way kool though. It really grooves! Great! _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Hey Aaron.. do you have some original music.. stuff you have made yourself that is not signed to some label? Please post that instead. I also guess it might be more interesting anyway. I would rather prefer hearing your music instead of all this major label stuff. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

i havent run into any problems for the simple fact that my distribution is for promotional purposes only and i have never, ever sold a cd, or made any money off of other peoples tracks.....my distribution is to show you my style as a dj, and my mixing ability. As for my own stuff....I have been working on a few things, but i dont have anything that i would consider worthy for the public.....soon hopefully....and when I do, i'll post it up in here. _________________ Aaron Jae

Thanks for being a good sport about this and for understanding our position.

I see your point, and those promo mixtapes have been a hot thing in the DJ business for decades now. I guess I still have some promo mixtapes of psychedelic german club music from the mid 70s. This is not about wether or not you are making a profit or not.. This is about how the rights management business works. The majors have been overlooking intentionally the whole promo mixtape thingie, but the RIAA won´t. The promo Dj mixtapes are meant to be an insider thingie and not freely distributed in public. Few places are as public as the internet.
Anyway, we edited your post. Actually, you did show us that you have great talent. I would love to hear some original stuff!
