Hi there,
I'm about to embark on building the 10 step sequencer but a feature I would really like to try and add is the classic "skip" as found on the Moog 960.

Has anyone attempted this?

I'm not an electronics expert and this is only the 5th bit of kit I've built so I hope you guys can help me out here. My first thought was to simply have a switch on each of the X1, X2... outputs which would effectively redirect the output of the 4017 back to the CLK input so that it would instantaneously clock the sequencer on to the next step and the broken X connection means that the rest of the stage functionality would be "skipped". Am I heading along the right lines or am I over simplifying this?

Is there anything I need to put in between the X output and the CLK input? Should I redirect via the step button circuitry for instance?
I guess part of what I'm asking is, is the output of the 4017 compatible with the clock input, I'm hoping it is but my gut says otherwise.

Any help much appreciated and I hope you'll find this an interesting and worthwhile mod.

Pete.
