hi folks, im troubleshooting one of these i built recently. 1st question:

should i be seeing identical voltages at both tl082's? the power pins are the same, but the other's are not. im measuring their sockets, w/ NO IC in place. thanks much...

I just biased mine using my ears.
It'll run on 9v but not very well.
12v is better and I did use it on 15v which gave the widest dynamic range.
Its a simple to build circuit and worked first time for me.

If you followed all the instructions then pop in the chip and have a go.

I modded mine to run of a 12v charge pump IC(see my other posts for diagram) which worked but required a further mixing stage for the application I wanted to use it for(2 guitar amps) so I just went out and bought a behringer TP300 which does the same job!

That siad, when using the auto panner into a mixing board this circuit does a great job of adding movement and space to your synth.

Good luck!

ok, so ive got it up and running, however, im getting the same signal level at both r and l outputs, i.e no outpanning.

ive gone over the build notes at least 3 times, and all my wiring seems to be correct. did the adjustments for 15V.

any ideas? i planned on biasing via my ears, but since im getting the same constant output level at both sides, its not really doing much...
