Hello,

I am looking for digital MTR for use with my G2, RM1X and Roland S-770 sampler. The way I work is very fast and simple. I write small phrases in pattern mode on the RM1x (works in much the same way as the Alesis MMT8) to g2 and s-770. I record those on my Fostex DMT-8. Press play and record new sequences into the RM1x based on what I am hearing. If I am happy then I record these onto new tracks.

Now the Fostex DMT8 sound wise leaves much to be desired even for my untrained ear. However, it has a no nonsense tape machine like interface that allows for me to do overdubs, effect sends etc. in a very fast and intuitive manner.

However, my mine gripe is that the DMT8 cannot act a as an MMC slave only as master. This I found strange as machine has MIDI In . This may appear to be a minor issue but it nevertheless is something that slows me down and gets in the way.

Could anyone recommend a similar machine that is in a similar vein to the DMT8 that responds that can act as a MMC slave. I don't require any of the fancy features like virtual tracks or whatever they have and would like to have something that is simple to use. My head gets enough pounding from the G2 as it is Smile
