Sorry Alfredo,
I should keep on top of the posts which have not been replied to, but I've been very distracted lately.
Okay,
I assume you want the option of using one of the SoundLabs oscillators as the Carrier and the other as the Source. I would include the possibility of an external source, modulated by one of the oscillators too, as this would allow more scope for interconnectivity.
The three connections on the rRing-Mod are for the Carrier in, the Source in (these are completely interchangeable AFAIK) and the output.
It could be implemented with one DPDT switch, and a switched Jack for the external input.
The section of the SoundLab you need to access is where the oscillators are mixed into the filter. This actually happens on the mixer pots, so it should be easy to do it there.
One oscillator output can be permanently connected to the Carrier input on the ring-mod as well as the mixer pot where it currently goes.
The other oscillator's output needs to be switched (using one side of the DPDT switch) between the mixer pot where it now is, and the Source input on the ring-mod.
When the 2nd oscillator is disconnected from the mixer pot you want the output of the ring-mod connected there instead. Use the other side of the DPDT to do this.
If you want an external input, use the switched jack to allow this to replace the 2nd oscillators signal before it gets to the switch I just described.
I'm assuming a certain level of understanding, both for brevity and because you've already built the SoundLab, but if you're unsure how to implement this, just ask again. I'm sure either I or someone else (who's quicker and better at drawing pictures than I) will be glad to help out. _________________ What makes a space ours, is what we put there, and what we do there. |

My soundlab has audio in connected the same in the new picture attached and a pot and 2 switches but still nothing connected.
Yes I already built the SoundLab but following strucctions and my level of understanding it´s very basic.
Please if isn´t too much inconvenience, can you paint over the picture how connect?
Thanks a lot. |

Oh, I don't know about the best here,
but yeah, I'm pretty good.
The thing is, I'm well aware of the number of times that someone here has helped me out when I've needed it, and it still happens on a regular basis. So I do my best to help out where I can. They're two very good lessons I've learned while being a part of this community,.... Generosity, and Gratitude. _________________ What makes a space ours, is what we put there, and what we do there. |

Hey guys,
I recently built the SoundLab Plus successfully. I would now like to add the CGS ring mod following Uncle Krunkus' wiring suggestions. I have a couple of questions before proceeding: 1) what value pot should I use, and 2) how is the ring mod powered? My SoundLab uses 2 9v batteries. Can the ring modulator run off this power supply? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
