Thinking of buying a 2X Subject description: I would appreciate some advice please! |

Hi folks, this is my first post so be gentle with me
I have been looking a getting a new synth but want to avoid the usual Roland / Korg / Yamaha route as I have had these keyboards in the past and am looking for something with a different sound.
The style of music I am planning to make will be electronic/industrial and I would like to know you think if the 2X would be suitable. Most of the MP3 demos kicking around on the net (such as the Clavia site) seem to be 'dance' music orientated and I definitely won't be making music in that genre. I like the idea of being able to program my own sounds easily too.
I have not been able to actually try a 2X out as no music stores near me stock one - I'm going to have to make a special trip to try one out and didn't want to be disappointed.
Any advice or any links to interesting uses of the 2X would be much appreciated! |

I think the Nord Leads are great for any kind of electronic music. I have a G2 and a NL3 and I don't make dance music, either. I've also owned a few other "virtual analog" synths, like the Roland JP8000, Korg MS2000R, Novation Nova, and Access Virus. By far, the Nord Leads are the most intuitive and easiest to use, and they also sound pretty good.
By the way, where I live there are no stores that sell synths other than the typical Korg, Roland, and Yamaha romplers, so I always base my purchase decisions on mp3 clips, youtube videos, and forum discussions, and I still haven't used a synth that disappointed me. No synth can do it all, but they all have their strengths. _________________ My music: http://cdbaby.com/all/fac |

(BTW I heard the nick name before, long ago...)
An example...
The owner of the biggest synth shop in The Netherlands once told me: "I sell all brands of synthesizers and can try them all, but when returning home I take my Nordlead1 and relax myself..." He really does sell all brands and owns even a large collection of old ones.
