The excerpts from 'After The Rain' are positioned a long way apart from each other in the 57 minute original. I'm surprised at how they seem to make sense (to me, at any rate) as individual pieces. These and 'Blue Thing' were made using: Roland D5; Gretsch gutaar; Art Alpha 2.0; Roland Tr 626; Soundforge and a Pentium3 PC.

'Palindrome' was constructed from vocals sampled from the Eastern Orthodox Mass, together with various synth samples I took from obscure recordings posted at MP3.com (that was before I acquired the D5).

'Aurora #1' and 'Aurora #3' were constructed in Soundforge from heavily treated synth and orchestral samples, as was 'Amoeba Strip'. They are quite lo-fi, but I like way that it makes them sound like ancient radio broadcasts from the recent future.

The three ambient guitar pieces? They might not sound as though they belong with the rest of this material, but in a musical sense they do. Their lack of conventional structure was the thing that led me away from 'songs' and towards 'music' - or at least helped me see that, without using words, I could get much closer to what I wanted to say.

Did anyone else check this guy out? I think his stuff's really nice! Despite the ultra-weird website design. Wink
