I was wondering if it was possible to use 3rd party memory cards for the NL2? e.g. Can I get a PCMCIA to CFC adapter and then use a CFC card?

Apprently the official NL2 cards were just from memorex anyways.

Any tips?

I never tried it, but I think memory is just memory...
Maybe troubles formatting the card by the NL2?
Blue Hell knows more about these things.

Sorry ... I really don't know much about the differences between various memory cards, and it always depends on the machine you put the memory in as well ... but didn't we have some threads about this in the past?

Is there any reason, if the connector problems are solved, the cards are treated or ask to be treated differently by the synth?

I wonder...

Ok looks like someone on another forum tried the pcmcia+cfc/SD adapter and it did not work.

However, I found these panasonic 64kb SRAM cards for just over $40.

Does anyone know if we need the option that has attribute memory or not?

e.g BN-064HSR-ND

or

BN-064HSRC-ND ?

It is the first time in 15 years I hear about that 'attribute memory', so I would say: NO.

hmmm one other major difference that I can see between those cards and something like the Vikant ones is that the Vikant have 150ns access time and the panasonic have 200ns. This may be unfortunately important.

It is still mental to me that a Vikant 64kb pcmcia card is $80!! When you can buy a cpu with a 2mb cache memory for less!!
