Hey? Shocked

What is this?

Battle of Britian Memorial Flight?

With an Avro Lancaster?

What have these jokers been smoking? Shocked

Any middleaged beer bellied synthesist knows that the Avro Lancaster first saw active service in 1942!

Shocked

Stein be sensitive, it's just the glue that makes you high, remember?

OMG, airfix Shocked

I remember those sessions, glue everywhere and still the damned things would fall apart for lack of glue. And that was the easy part .. then came the paint job .. good memories though Very Happy

Oh and I remember quite well that consensus was that gluing bombers was cool, nothing Rommel like in it, those were the days Laughing

I mostly miss that glue I guess Shocked Laughing

I'm actually glad Airfix was saved. We learned about Airfix at the RAF museum *just up the road*. The boys loved the kits.

So I'll be a bit sanguine about them being continued.

And where is my neck of the woods? Smile

(did you at least wave as you flew over?)
The picture of the Kitty Hawk is actually in the Indian Ocean, during the failed Hostage rescue attempt in hmm, well now when was that? Well, I was right outta high school, so somewhere between 79-81.

Speaking of "neck in the woods", I'm originally from Allentown.

Do you mean- the one that made Billy Joel famous? Wink
(Yes one in the same. I remember that song/video well. It depicted many people loosing their jobs (and the layoffs at the Bethlehem Steel) because the economy was in such decline in the early 80's. That was the main reason I went to California to find a job)

I saw your SIG said you were from San Jose. I was stationwed at Moffett Field. Funny, I now live in Telford PA, which is just a bit south of Allentown.
Seems you were in about the same time as me.
