Demor is a location based 3D audio shooter. This highly innovative game was developed by a multi-disciplinary team of seven EMMA-students for the Bartimeus Institute for the Blind. Demor does not only focus on the entertainment aspect of computer gaming, but also attempts to contribute to the emancipation of the blind and visually impaired people in order to enhance their integration with the ‘sighted’ world. It is a proof of concept developed on the basis of theoretical and practical research.

We got quite a bit of media attention about this and i'm hoping we might get a chance to visit a few festivals with it next year. What i'm really hoping for is that someone picks up the concept and does some cool art tour stuff with it. I'm thinking soundtracks to a city or trip, composing the score to the buildings that you see.

Actually... i have some ideas already.. hmm. how do I go about writing something for this platform??

'fraid it's not quite there yet. hardware is still expensive (tracker alone costs about 1500 us$ ) software isn't a development kit... I think it will take a few people a while to actually build something new, before a different project can work with this concept... but it only took us a few months to put this together, so it can be done
