Congress appears to be preparing assaults against peer-to-peer technology on multiple fronts.

A draft bill obtained by Wired News, recently circulated among members of the House judiciary committee, would make it much easier for the Justice Department to pursue criminal prosecutions against file sharers by lowering the burden of proof. The bill also would seek penalties of fines and prison time of up to ten years for file sharing.

I'd go with elk. Penguins have been taking a beating lately - a very bouncy beating.

I like that "lowering the burden of proof" comment. Innocent until proven guilty, except in this case in which we think you might have probably done it.

just like there failed war on drugs this war will be even more difficult .

Personally I'm a electronic musician and how the industry has it set only the rich would be able to be such with the cost of soft and hardware. They set the tables against us and pirates scare them because with little money we can now do at home what they had a monopoly on .
Has anyone peeped how many users are on Just Kazaa ???? Thats just one program and the most risky.

yes, but then that will just keep the cycle going

pirates and those who pilfer file sharing networks are simply the other side of the same coin

when will it stop..where is the middle ground Question

the middle ground is instead of hollywood and bmi(and others) being absolutely super mega rich they should be only be super rich . But it is just the struggle between the have and have nots . If what was pirated was affordable and quality... then piracy would be on the down turn not the epidemic uprising that is happening today.
